Friday 24th April, 2015 an American television journalist Diane Sawyer from the ABC 20/20 TV show televised a pre-recorded interview with a person the world has known for the past 65 years as Mr Bruce Jenner.
Those of us baby boomers and early generation X folks may remember Bruce Jenner for his amazing achievements in the 1976 Montreal summer olympics where he won gold for the United States in the decathlon event/s, he also walked away with the title of “The World’s Greatest Athlete”
Me personally, I have really only ever known him as ‘the dad’ on the reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The interview that took place with Diane Sawyer, had this 6 ft something guy announcing to the world that he has actually been living a lie and no longer wants to continue down the path where he wasn’t being true to his soul.
Bruce Jenner announced on television that he actually identifies as female and has felt like this since he was around 8 years old. This apparently will be the last interview that Bruce will participate in, the next time we see him, he will be ‘her’.
My heart breaks for Bruce and all people suffering with a soul that may never experience the joyfulness of inner peace.
In my humble opinion living an authentic life would have to be the most freeing feeling a human soul can own, and now that Bruce has ‘exposed’ himself as a lier and chooses this way of life no more, he is not only owning his truth but he is passing it on in an attempt to educate a wider community.
All the money, all the power, all the respect, all the sex, drugs, rock and roll in the world is frivolous and full of ’empty’ if we are unable to live and breathe our souls truth every.single.day.
Don’t weigh in on Bruce Jenner’s story just because you don’t understand or disagree with his life choices thus far. Allow yourself to realise that the world is so much bigger than you and me, the world is a place where every.single.person who graces our planet should have the right to discover their own personal truth while travelling down their own individual path, uncovering their own authentic life.
Bruce isn’t asking you to join along with him and chose his way of life, he is attempting to right his wrong and begin to live his life in a way his soul has longed for since he was a young child.
Can we unite to find the compassion, love, understanding, acceptance and more for those who struggle with denying themselves a peaceful soul, then maybe the next freeing spirit will not have to wait 65 years to live their life authentically.
